Advanced Digital Being

  • Advanced Digital Being (ADB)

With the technological advances of mankind, soon followed a new age of myths: mysterious phone calls people should never answer, photographs containing someone who should be long dead, TV channels rumoured to kill those who watch them, cursed videotapes, haunted game cartridges and much more… Those so-called Urban Legends and Modern Yokais are simply rumoured to exist, but confirmation was lacking, or the truth was behind an entirely different entity passing as them.

Until the confirmation has come. Tsubasa Yakou, 16 years old, discovered hints of what he came to call Advanced Digital Being, or ADB for short: a sentient entity not controlled by anyone remotely, found inside a supposedly cursed laptop he bought online. The more he communicated, the more the entity grew, without taking any more from the computer. From then on came his idea of creating more of them, creating a whole new species. A task he half succeeded in life.

    ADB Creation

ADBs can come to exist through a variety of means, which ranges from merely being coded from scratch and given time to develop or by a ghost who possessed a computer or cellphone and had gained enough strength to materialize from it.

When created from scratch they can be given a couple pros and cons from a species other than their own, or even given access to be remotely controlled by someone who “owns” them. Materialization, on the other hand, involves someone who can turn digital beings into reality.

If by any chance a ghost possessed a computer or cellphone, they can gain enough strength to fully materialize physically, alongside giving themselves a whole new identity if they desire. That grants them the combined aspects, to some degree, of both an ADB and a different entity, so be not surprised to see a demon-ADB or kitsune-ADB hybrid.

Another possibility is the offspring between an ADB that has been materialized and another entity, provided there is any biological compatibility between the two, in which case results may vary.
