The planet Earth is considered a protected planet by the aliens of the Milky Way, whose spacefaring species observe a strict pact about involvement with non-lightspeed species. While the occasional alien does make it to Earth, they tend to be there either by accident or to hide out. Forced to disguise themselves as humans or risk exposure and judgement from their species (and those that police the area), they inevitably fall in with the supernatural communities of Earth that tend to have a lot of experience with hiding themselves. As such, extraterrestrials are a relatively new and rare addition to the supernatural communities of Earth.
