Upgrading a character is a way to improve their abilities over time. This is different from simply swapping out Traits, which you can do at any time with an appropriate Update.
When posted, an Upgrade appears in the same text field as your character's Bonus. Please be sure to clearly note your Bonus and each Upgrade. And don't forget to post an Update for mod approval of the Upgrade when you're done.
To qualify for an Upgrade, a character must have participated in 5 in character threads that involve at least one other player's character. These threads can be on the forum in any IC area, tagged with your character's name, or Discord IC threads linked and logged in the ICC Logs forum.
A note on Spellcasting: because spellcasting offers greater versatility than any single normal advantage and therefore replaces three standard advantages, if you wish to use an upgrade to gain more spellcasting you must use three upgrades to do so.
