Personality
Trait One: Coward: The loss of his eye has stripped away what little pride he was holding on to. Now, not only is he easily intimidated by others, by he also tries to avoid conflict however he can. Little bit of a pushover.
Trait Two: Untrusting: Etienne is well aware he is unliked in town. Before, he could manage. But, missing an eye, he has little leverage. As such, he tends to be untrusting of those around him, especially those who try to offer him help.
Trait Three: Honorable: Even in spite of all his family has done, Etienne still tries to carry himself with a certainly level of dignity. To that end, he holds himself to a certain code, and does whatever he can to honor his word.

The fire that comes from this is black in color, ignores invulnerabilities, and can only be extinguished by Etienne, or by dousing the source in water. If not put out by the above means, it will extinguish itself after 5 minutes, and must be reapplied to reignite.

Etienne was born as the result of several generations of very selective breeding with a singular purpose. Create the next heir to the Incendo clan. Of his siblings, which includes Emelie, he was the first to be born, and quickly proved himself worthy of the title by establishing himself as the strongest among them. Naturally, this was by killing two of his siblings who hatched not long after him.
From there, the vast majority of his childhood was spent in training. Be it learning how to fight and hunt with the other dragons of his clans, to learning swordsmanship and politics, nothing was out of reach. Of course, his family spared no expense, and that extended to his schooling. He studied at some of the most prestigious schools in Europe, eventually graduating a year early from Le Rosey at 16. From there, he spent the next two years studying under the finest sommeliers in the world, so that he could take over the family's wine business. During this time, he also became somewhat of a social media "influencer" often posting pictures showing off his wealth, or the myriad of places he's visited, which were mainly tropical beaches. Of course, he didn't mind the extra attention, even if it did come from sleepers.
By his 18th birthday, everything seemed to be falling into place, and with any luck he would soon be announced as the next heir apparent to lead the next generation of Incendo's. Something that he couldn't have been prouder, and excited, to do. Of course, had everything gone according to plan, something had to go wrong. Something always does.
At the 11th hour, everything was ruined. The situation in Polaris Pass had deteriorated extremely quickly. With several expendable members of the clan being killed, courtesy of one Alexander Dorakir. What's more, he'd been smart enough to rally forces in the town behind him against them. They could've easily left the boy alone, as he was proving to be too much of a hassle to deal with. But, why do that, when you have the perfect opportunity for the chosen heir to prove his worthiness to lead once and for all by resolving this little problem. Him and Alex are even the same age, after all.
And that's how Etienne found himself, and a few servants on a flight to some supposed backwater "ghost town". Polaris something or other, he honestly couldn't be bothered to care. To him, this is more a chore than anything. He honestly doesn't plan to spend any longer here then he absolutely has to to resolve this little problem, and take his rightful place in the leadership of the Incendo clan.
Things, unsurprisingly, did not go according to plan.
Etienne not only got soundly beaten by Alex and his friends, Alex even went a step further by destroying the Incendo family all together. Leaving Etienne by in large, stuck in Polaris Pass. He was able to manage for a bit, but quickly burned through the money he had left from his family.
So, desperate times call for desperate measures, and he decided to attack Emelie. The goal being if he could take her eyes, he could grow his own power, and maybe, finally, beat Alex once and for all.
