Personality
Golden-Hearted: Riley is a loud presence, in the same way that music and laughter can be loud. He’s a relaxed, easy-going guy, smiling even through the hard times, and always looking to lend a helping hand. Riley can come off as a bit eccentric or flippant, and he’s got a decent delinquent streak, but at the end of the day he’s an asshole with a heart of gold. Selfless, non-judgemental, loyal to a fault, and truly extroverted, Riley has a soft spot for both kids and small animals (plus any grown humans who fit the bill), and truly hates to be alone.
Self-Isolated, Explosive: Riley’s carefree demeanor comes at the cost of bottled emotions, especially considering his Disruptions. His feelings can get explosive, especially when he’s angered. Riley can be impulsive and a little volatile when he’s not careful, and strong emotions cloud his judgment. He also tends to keep others at arm’s length. Don’t get him wrong — he loves to socialize, problem solve, lend his shoulders, and even cuddle when he can. But he’s hard pressed to ask for it on his terms, and prefers to be the protective, helpful “big spoon” in any interaction he can.
Creative: Riley’s a creative guy, preferring to release his explosive emotions in ways that add to the world, rather than detract from it. He is an artist, preferring charcoal and paints, and isn’t afraid to get messy with it. Firework creation, while illegal and a source of income, is also something he experiments with a lot. Finally, Ry is a drummer and songwriter in his Portland-based punk band, Matchstick Memories.

A deep, dark ring of solid fire agate, seeming to the awakened to sometimes swirl with embers and flames. It is hot to the touch, and can only be destroyed by profane/holy magic or lava. In addition to his template abilities, Riley also gains the ability to spontaneously combust up to a few inches of inanimate flammable material within thirty feet of him. The material must be exposed to air, and he is capable of delaying the combustion by up to a minute. He can disable combustion before explosion so long as he is in range, and can only combust one thing at a time.
Only the owner (Riley) can use the ring. It teleports to him if lost or stolen. If Riley gives up or somehow loses ownership to Logi's Ember, ALL of his supernatural abilities will become locked/deleted.

Riley grew up in Chicago for most of his life, aside from several childhood years in Scotland. However, his father died when Riley was 13, and his mother followed after, leaving Riley a large inheritance in a trust fund. She passed on her Ring — Logi's Ember — to him the night before, and he went on to live with his uncle Roy in Portland. Things have been… difficult, since then. But, nearly done with high school and therefore qualified for his inheritance, Riley is determined to hold out just a little longer.
Recently, Riley was involved in a stabbing that nearly took his life, and he is still healing from 4 stab wounds: 3 abdominal, and 1 on his hand. They moved out to Polaris Pass in response.
