Bond is formed by her being taken into the household member's residence and being cared for in some way, whether having an injury tended to or being kept warm and given food.

- Born to a poor, unawakened woman, somewhere in Europe. She didn't know who his father was. Raised him as best as she could, but it was a hard life.
- Kidnapped at 2 years old by an awakened wannabe wizard who recognized what he was. Raised as the woman's slave, passed off as her son. Easily done since she was travelling at the time.
- She is quite controlling, even using some magic, though she's barely competent. He barely has a childhood.
- At some point she becomes bored with travel and returns to her hometown of Polaris Pass.
- Eventually he starts showing signs of rebellion.
- She performs a ritual to summon an imp, using his blood to give it more power. Unknown to her this causes the imp to be obedient to him.
- Half-demon and imp have twisted relationship, which the wizard approves of as a way to keep them both in line.
