HALLOWEEN MISCHIEF GONE TOO FAR
Last night was Halloween, an evening of revelry and mischief beloved by all. Polaris Pass has come to expect a level of prankishness from both locals and tourists engaging in the spooky traditions of the holiday. But last night, in more than one occasion, those sentiments went too far.
The Last Stop, the former train museum refurnished into a spot for anyone who wants a nice, casual place to rest and socialize, was vandalized. Displays disturbed and glass broken. The damage seems to be minimal, and the broken glass itself was found cleaned and deposited in a waste bin. In light of other events, the chief of police has elected to only issue a blanket warning not to destroy public property.
More seriously though, it seems that Polaris Pass has a wannabe Abraham Van Helsing on its hands. Last night, around eleven PM, a Codelia S. Moore student, in costume as a vampire, was violently attacked with a sharpened wooden stake. His boyfriend, who witnessed the attack but could not make out the assailant's face, described how the two of them were joking around of the victim 'biing' him in an alleyway when a masked and hooded figure swept in and staked the 'vampire.'
The victim is in critical condition in the hospital, and hopefully will make a full recovery. Police are urging anyone who has any information on the attack to come forward as the investigation continues.
