SECTION SIX: History
Date of Birth: 09/09/2004
Place of Birth: Vinh Yen, Vietnam
History:
For most of her life, Houmg knew not of her origins. When her father discovered the seemingly abandoned baby girl happily suckling on a fallen dragon fruit with no parents in sight, he took it as a sign that his wife’s prayers for another child was finally answered. It was that day which the young girl was given the name of Houmg Anh Long and was officially adopted into her new family family. When she was still young, she looked to be but a normal child but as years went by her strange heritage began to show more and more. At the age of 10, it started with weird but otherwise benign bumps on her head but she started sprouting of small wings, her adopted parents naturally became concerned and sent out for a doctor to find out what was wrong with their Houmg. The doctor, whom was a wandering spirit in disguise, performed a check-up and quickly deduced that there was nothing with Houmg, only that “strange growths” was natural part of her growing up. After explaining the nature of their daughter’s condition and that of the supernatural world, the doctor would help mentor the Houmg until she reached the point in which Houmg had basic grasp of her abilities and could safely disguise her draconic features with illusion so that she blends in within human society. The doctor had also warned the parents they should keep their daughter nature hidden as the offspring of a dragon and fairy would attract unwanted attention.
Heeding his advice, her parents instructed Houmg to never reveal her true self to people outside her family and watched over any activities the young was a part of like overbearing helicopter parents. While she acted the part of a good student at home and at school, in secret she would sneak out to learn more about her abilities with the help of a few close friends she let her little secret on. It was this practice that made her discover her powers seem to cause rain to appear and learned that could make plants to sprout fruit. Abilities to which she put to use in helping with her parents’ dragon fruit orchards. Yet amid these bountiful harvests she would bring, it would attract the attention of a nearby river dragon whom then appear to her parents with an ultimatum. It’s demands were simple; the girl would be given over to him for purposes he would not reveal. If they were refused, the dragon claimed that he would bring them to ruination.
Troubled by dragon’s egregious demands and fearing that they would lose their daughter forever to whatever plans the dragon had for their child, they sought out the wandering doctor for help once again. After hearing their pleas, the doctor suggested they send Houmg somewhere far away… the hidden supernatural community of Polaris Pass. Excited by the prospects, Hmong accepted her parents offer when she was 13, thinking it was her parents giving her chance to being among other supernatural people like herself while being oblivious to the true reasons she was being sent to Polaris Pass. The wandering doctor, being an old acquaintance of Hudson Rogers, would help arrange for Hmong to stay with the elderly dragon of Polaris Pass as one of the many children he would watch over. The young girl, having never met another dragon before, believed that Hudson was her long lost grandfather at first. Even when she learned this was not the case, she nevertheless continued to refer to Hudson affectionately as "Gramps" and endeared him a dragonly role model throughout the years she would live with him.
Hmong (usually going by her middle name as “Ann” because it was easier for people to say) would attend the local True North Academy throughout her high school years and continues to be a student there in her final year. Around school, she usually known as the overly friendly girl with an obsession for dragon fruits. To the locals, many would recognize her selling fruits and drinks at farmer’s markets or around street corners.
