I'm thinking a bit of how to bring Neon into new SA...
History-wise, his changes are that his uncle was way less harsh on him, tried to get him into game development so he could try create his own happy end. He'd still die by neglecting his well being, and just after he finished coding the first semi-sentient avatar NPC. Because of rumors that the NPC is actually his ghost, he would eventually come back from within the game world. His uncle would become the only aware of his identity by noticing "something was off about him ever since his health started to degrade.
Power-wise, his abilities would revolve around typical kitsune ability (fox-fire, illusion, transformation), but also materializing things from the digital world into reality and handling "digital matter", and being made of "solid digital matter" himself. His weaknesses would be mostly in terms of sacred powers (can be harmful to him and force exposure of his real self), and that which would affect "digital matter"
As for what "digital matter" entails..
"Digital Matter" are not only lightweight but as durable as the real thing and even able to fool analysis methods like X-ray and heat sensors into thinking it is nothing unusual. However when damaged its nature can be exposed: if he's not conscious of it, his "blood" will turn into a faintly glowing mist as opposed as a red liquid, clothes made of digital matter will crack like glass rather than rip when damaged, and food constructed from Digital Matter can only provide nutrients for beings of the same matter.
Electricity can strengthen the bonding of Digital Matter, improving regeneration or serving as an alternative source of nourishment, but a high enough voltage can just tear through it and an Electric-Magnetic Pulse can blast it away and prevent repair for some time. Water makes it more difficult to manipulate Digital Matter, but beings of such material don't need to breath (yet, they do because of an instinct).
While they are immune to biological viruses, bacteria and venoms, they are vulnerable to chemicals and computer malware, which can be as hazardous as the real thing would be.
Lastly, they can return to and from dataspace by using electronics. That allows for some degree of teleportation as long as they know the way.
So, the point of this thread is to determine, as pointed in the title, whether or not a Custom Template should be made/requested to fill in the blanks, as working on a Custom Template that could turn out to be unneeded for him would be a lot of headache down the drain.
Should be worth noting that Neon will be half this new species and half fae, but his son (Symlink) will belong to this species entirely.
PS.: As Romi mentioned... Yes, Neon won't have all traits of said new species.
