Mysterious Van:
Apparently there has been a mysterious van parked out near one of the local grocery stores for the past day.
There were reports of music and a very loud boom coming from inside the van at around 7 am.
No one was harmed.
The van has since been towed to the local impound lot after authorities were unable to get in contact with the owner.

Break in at Cordelia S. Moore:

Staff working at Cordelia S. Moore arrived this morning to find that several classrooms had been broken into. CCTV footage of the public school showed 3 masked men entering the campus earlier that night, ransacking the science classrooms, messing with the computer labs and generally making a mess everywhere they went. Police currently believe this to be an act of petty vandalism, though they are yet to name any suspects.

Art hired some goons to search everything Kyo left at school for anything relevant to the Nek0s after the ones she operated on visited her there. They also trashed the place a little to hide their main goal.

Who can know: Anyone paying attention to the news. Students and staff at the school definitely know about it. There was still some mess being cleaned when students arrived. At least one science project was probably ruined.

Book Release Announced

The long awaited third installment of the Wright and Wrong series has been announced. Fans of the book series are now aware that the series, originally slated as a trilogy, will now be a quartet. Early estimates of the release of the third book, titled Reflections of the Sea, see it on shelves midway through the summer, assuming the enigmatic author's editing schedule stays on course. So far no interviews with the author have appeared online, but fans can keep an eye out for news moving forward. Once again rumors of a movie or streaming series deal have surface, but nothing beyond normal speculation.

Teenaged Ravings of Monsters at the Portland Museum
What Sleepers think happened:
Local Archery Championship contender Victoria Morgan made reports to museum security about a monster attacking her classmate. After a sweep by security though, the classmate in question was nowhere to be found, and neither was the 'supposed' monster in question.

What the supernatural may know:
(Those affiliated with Olcott University, The Olcans, and potentially maybe those affiliated with the police who are awakened.)
Its still unclear, but the running theory for those in the know is that a rogue feral vampire got loose after a Sleeper Lab Tech at the museum accidentally woke it from the coffin they were studying. The fate of the lab tech, and the rogue vampire are unknown.

From Hero to Zero
Last night, a street fight broke out a block or two from the Haunt. It's unclear what happened, exactly. Some sources recount a brave man defending a hurt woman with a freshly broken nose, only to be struck down by the assailant in question. Others point fingers at the supposed hero and his creepy actions, claiming the original "assailant" was the good guy all along. No one knows what happened, really— even the KO'ed man, when he came to in the hospital, claims to have blacked out the whole thing. Only a blurry night-shot worldstar video exists, showing an older man socking a hooded guy in the face, and ending with the man KO'ed and the other two fleeing from cop lights in the distance.

Just one thing is for "certain"... To those who might recognize them, the two bloodied teens fleeing the scene look a little like Lizzy Roselend (who conveniently has a broken nose this week) and Riley Davis (with split lip and freshly chipped tooth).

Who Can Know: Anyone can know about the fight. Only people who know Lizzy and Riley would likely recognize them directly, though— the whole thing is kinda grainy and dim. Feel free to spread rumors, though.

Site Plot: Probably not? I mean feel free with a DM, but I can't imagine how.

Local Woman Has Triplets

In happier news than has been recent, early this morning one Katherine Cross and her partner Brian Hadley went to Polaris Pass general hospital. She has given birth to three healthy babies despite the short length of her gestation.

Mummy Stolen from Museum

Several weeks ago now, an unidentified sarcophagus was dredged up from the ocean and brought to a research facility in Portland for study. With preliminary research completed, the sarcophagus and the mummy inside were set to be displayed at one of Portland's museums.

However the mummy in question vanished overnight recently, and museum officials are now saying that it was stolen.

Who can know?

Anyone reading the news can know about the stolen mummy. Awakened individuals can also know that there are rumors that rather than being stolen, the dessicated body simply got up and walked out.

That Asshole Strikes Again (or, Class Pres Outed as Gay In Front Of School Right Before Prom)

It's wild times in CSM. This Thursday, just days before prom, none other than JASON (yes, everyone's least favorite Mishka-groping, Yuto-expelling asshole) was caught back at it again... this time, in the biggest school hallway intersection during a space between classes. The school's densely packed halls could only watch as Jason loudly dug up Sophie Smith's bullying skeletons and outed Student Body President Samuel Reed as gay in front of everyone... "gamer words" and all.

Much to everyone's mutual satisfaction, Sophie forcefully put the situation down, shortly before Ms. Ruehle (teacher staff for the Student Council) formally dealt with Jason. However, Sam, speechless and publicly in tears, ended up fleeing the scene. He proceeded to be absent to school on Friday, and his status on Prom attendance is unclear. (Rumor has it Sophie might have been asking Sam herself at the time of the Incident.)

A few NPCs you can reference are Jason (the asshole with the effed up hand), Sarah (blue-eyed brunette, prominent cheerleader, little well-meaning menace and a teacher favorite, one of Sam's closer offscreen friends), and others similar.

Who Can Know?
Everyone. Everyone and anyone who goes to CSM or has any other possible connection to the school or characters. Sam has been Student Body President of CSM for two years now, on student council for longer, and did his Freshman year at CSM. He makes it his business to be friendly to every single person at CSM and many more at True North, so... chances are, if you're a high schooler, you've at least HEARD of Sam Reed. He's the classic "goldenboy" popular kid, but actually nice, rather than secretly douchey. He's particularly close to the Cheerleaders and other athletes as well, and has been spotted spending time with John Smith.

During Sam's freshman year (he's now a senior), some may remember he was a bullied kid who nevertheless ended up carving a name for himself during his Sophomore year.

People may or may not know he's a foster kid— he doesn't hide it, but he doesn't pointedly tell people either. And he's been VERY firmly closeted.
