Trait Three: List a major personality trait, and explain it briefly.

Additional Information: Does your character have any unique mannerisms or notable reactions to certain common sights, sounds, topics, etc? Is there anything else you need to note about their personality?

SECTION FOUR: Abilities

Ability Format: Spellcasting/Standard Traits

Advantages: Elemental Projectile (Fire), Flight, Telekinesis

Disadvantages: Lifebound (Jace), Weakened Attribute (Strength), Sleepy

Spellcasting:

Familiarity
Minor
: Create a temporary, mindless familiar in the shape of a rat-sized animal that can perform one specified task for one hour before disappearing. Can alternatively animate a similarly sized object instead of making an animal familiar.
Major: As Minor, but with the categories increased to dog-sized and six hours. Smaller familiars can be kept up to 24 hours. Commands can be as complex as a human could accomplish without training (or hands, in the case of familiars without hands).
Momentous: As Major, but a smaller familiar can be made permanent, or a horse-sized familiar can be created for up to 12 hours. Previously made familiar can be edited as well.

Minor Cost: Physical Fatigue - Corrine is left winded and needs to rest after creating a familiar.
Major Cost: Material Sacrifice - Corrine must burn a hundred dollars worth of collectible items (trading cards, Beanie Babies, etc.).
Momentous Cost: Patience - The spell takes a month of incubation time to fully cast.

Binding
Minor
: Can bind lesser supernatural creatures to an object or place temporarily, such as tethering a vampire to a lamp post for up to an hour.
Major: As minor, but can affect more powerful entities such as demons and djinn. Lesser creatures can be bound for up to 24 hours.
Momentous: As major, but can bind any supernatural creature permanently.

Minor Cost: Focus - lock of hair, vial of blood, etc. of the intended target, Focus - the object she intends to bin them to
Major Cost: Incantation - must recite a short incantation in the presence of the intended target
Momentous Cost: Recharge - Corrine loses her ability to do magic, including her telekinesis and fire creation, for one entire lunar cycle after such a binding, Physical Fatigue - Corrine passes out immediately after the spell finishes

Read the Bones
Minor
: She can locate recently lost mundane objects like keys, unerringly pick the correct card out of a fanned deck, and other minor instances of divining the hidden.
Major: Can read the immediate future like the upcoming week's weather, or answer one yes or no question asked about the week ahead.
Momentous: Can read (or possibly create?) prophesies of the future pertaining to one person or event which will absolutely come true within the next year. These are almost always cryptic in nature.

Minor Cost: Focus - a handful of knuckle bones or various animal teeth, Gesture - throwing the bones to let them 'roll' like dice
Major Cost: Sacrifice - must cut her own hand enough to coat the bones entirely in her blood, Incantation - must recite a short incantation that includes the question in mind
Momentous Cost: Recharge - Corrine loses her ability to do magic, including her telekinesis and fire creation, for one entire lunar cycle after such a prophesy

Core Advantage: Corrine can augment her spellcasting by shaving off a portion of a willing creature's soul. She can remove a small, medium, or large portion of the soul to bypass the need for a single minor, major, or momentous cost to a spell.
Likewise she can spend the same sized piece of soul as an additional cost to bypass the normal limitations of her spellcasting. As an example, shaving off a large piece of her soul when editing her familiar, Jace, resulted in him becoming both humanoid in form and fully sapient.
As Corrine loses more of her soul, she will accumulate Disadvantages. Each time she shaves off one large, three medium, or ten small pieces of her soul, she gains a Disadvantage with no corresponding Advantage. If she gains seven such Disadvantages, too much of her soul will be degraded and she will die. This damage to her soul cannot be undone or repaired, as it is of her own doing.

Core Disadvantage: Those who can sense or are drawn to the dead detect Corrine as dying.

Bonus: Took a third style of magic

Nerfs and Flavor: The biggest flame that Corrine can produce is roughly what an oil lantern could make, and she still requires some kind of flammable material to act as a catalyst for the initial flame creation. Likewise she can only fly with the aid of a broom or similar object that can act as a vehicle for her.

SECTION FIVE: Current Situation

Occupation: Unemployed college dropout

Housing: Homeless, squatting on a friend's couch at the moment

Wealth: Nothing but the clothes on her back

SECTION SIX: History

Date of Birth:

Place of Birth:

History: Born to a poor but well respected family of witches, survivors of multiple witch hunts throughout Europe and then later in the States, Corrine grew up with the knowledge that she was special and that she would do great things one day. From a young age she showed aptitude with her craft, not even flinching when she had to turn the blade of her knife on her own hand to cast a spell.

Fast forward years later, living on her own with her family's name being enough to get her into a decent college in Maryland. Life was good; she had decent work-life balance between her school, her job as a barista, and her craft. She created a permanent Familiar, aptly named Jace when he ate her favorite Planeswalker, and bound him to a ring so she could keep him nearby all the time. But being herself and wanting to see how far she could push her magic, she cast a spell with a sliver of her soul as an additional catalyst to make Jace sapient and give her the perfect companion. It worked, though not entirely as she'd intended, and Corrine dropped out of school and went to work full time rather than try to explain where this handsome man had come from to her RA.

Life seemed good for a while: Jace was mischievous, but she reminded herself that he was still a cat no matter what he looked like. And then one day, he ran. Stole his ring and ran away. Heartbroken, Corrine wove a prophesy that she would be reunited with him. It didn't turn out the way she wanted. Men she didn't recognize came looking for him. They hurt her and trashed her home to try and intimidate her into telling them what she didn't know. She got away, but had nothing to call her own anymore. She made her way out west to Polaris Pass, where she knew a family friend lived who might possibly put her up for at least a few weeks while she recovered from her injuries.

App Title: Mala Berringer

Tag line:

SECTION ONE: Basic Info

Name: Malathera Berringer

Age: 41

Gender: Female - She/Her

Occupation: Mercenary

Personality: Laissez-faire team mom with an occasional bloodlust

Abilities: Standard El'anai abilities, walking universal translator

Situation: Living on the ship with her crew in orbit, currently unemployed

SECTION TWO: Appearance

Height: 5'9"

Body: Curvy with a warm, dark skintone typical of the El'anai. She has a tail tufted at the end with white fur and multiple scars across her body, including a massive one taking up most of her back.

Face: Sharp features somewhat rounded out, with a small nose and crow's feet at the outer corner of her eyes. Has a large diagonal scar taking up most of her right cheek. Long, pointed ears that stick out a fair bit to the sides.

Eyes: Heavily lidded, bright blue eyes

Hair: Back length wavy white hair typically worn in a messy half bun

Clothes: Typically wears a standard issue space travel jumpsuit underneath a jacket of some kind

Other:

SECTION THREE: Personality

Trait One: Team Mom. Mala takes her role as second in command very seriously, doing everything in her power to care for the needs of her crew mates and especially her captain. She often knows more than she lets on and wants what's best for the people she cares about, even if they don't know what that is yet.

Trait Two: Lassiz-Faire. Despite how deeply she cares, Mala is fairly hands off in how she approaches problems that she sees. In her mind, it's her job to roll with the punches and make the best of bad situations as they come up, not to try and head off problems before they become them. That's for others to struggle with.

Trait Three: Old bloodlust. From her days serving the Steel Sisterhood, Mala has gained a fine appreciation for violence in all its applications. On a surface level, she understands that indulging in her baser instincts is neither good nor prudent, but there are moments when she simply can't help herself and needs to indulge in a little aggravated assault as a treat.

Additional Information:

SECTION FOUR: Abilities

Template: Standard Traits, Custom Template

Template Advantages:

+ Cybernetic Constitution- Once Augmented with their mother metal, a person's body becomes much more stable with other technology being introduced. + Walking Smartphone
+ Omnilingual

Template Disadvantages:
- Elemental Weakness (Electricity)
- Metallurgic diet- The bio-organic metal that has been integrated within their body requires regular absorption of mundane metals. This can usually be done by either eating or making prolonged contact with a source of metal.

- Magical Vulnerability

Core Advantage:

Core Disadvantage:

Bonus:
removed a disadvantage

Nerfs and Flavor:

SECTION FIVE: Current Situation

Occupation: Mercenary, explorer, second-in-command. Otherwise, in human terms, unemployed.

Housing: Currently residing on her mostly decommissioned ship.

Wealth: Almost broke

SECTION SIX: History

Date of Birth: 12/21

Place of Birth: El'anai Mothership

History: Born and raised from a young age to enter military service, Mala tested early as a positive match for the spinal interfaces that the Steel Sisterhood utilized throughout their ranks. The spinal cord attachment was her first augmentation after bonding with the mother metal, and anytime she could be Mala was in one of the provided exo-suits to train her mind to operate them efficiently. This started out as mostly mundane duties such as carrying heavy packages or maintenance on t5he ship, but by the time she was old and proficient enough to join her sisters on the battlefield, Mala was upgraded to a combat unit. Her life path was set before her, etched in brushed steel forever.

Then tragedy struck, and a particularly powerful blow damaged not only her suit (not a problem, they were replaceable), but her spinal augmentation. Emergency surgery was required to remove the partially fused metal from her spine and save her life. The scarring remained as proof of how close she was to death, and Mala could no longer do the one thing she'd been raised from birth to do. She fell into a deep depression and eventually, in shame, she left her people to wander and try to find a reason to go on. For a few years she went on like this, keeping on the move and never settling anywhere or finding her place among the myriad people of the galaxy. It wasn't until she met Saeta that Mala felt a semblance of purpose again. She'd grown complacent in her time away and started out as the ship's quartermaster and nothing else. But proving to be level-headed in a crisis, a good listener, and easily taking charge when the captain was incapacitated, Mala earned her way into her position as first mate/second in command.

The last job smelled wrong to Mala from the beginning, but she couldn't pin down what quite didn't feel right, so she let it go. Better to face a challenge head on when you can see it clearly that to go shooting at shadows and hope you hit something. This latest challenge is a tough one though, she'll admit. Stranded on a backwater planet that doesn't even have reliable interplanetary travel, to say nothing of Intergalactic. But she trusts her captain and what's left of their crew, and she plans on making the most of this town they've found themselves in: Polaris Pass.

App Title: Morrigan Black

Tag line: Deadshot Vampire

SECTION ONE: Basic Info

Name: Morrigan Anastasia Black

Age: Physically 30, Chronologically 185

Gender: Cis Female - she/her

Species: Vampire

Occupation: Conservation Scientist/Supernatural Bounty Hunter

Appearance: A tall, voluptuous woman of mixed heritage with long raven black hair and piercing red eyes

Personality: A self-martyring, lonely gunwoman with a penchant for efficient violence

Abilities: Dracula-esque Vampiric abilities, a demon-possessed gun and eye

Situation: She's not hurting for money but is nowhere as wealthy as her age might suggest

SECTION TWO: Appearance

Height: 6'2"

Body: Tall and leggy with ample curves, dark skin, and many subtle scars across her body.

Face: Sharp cheekbones and a slightly longer than average nose. The upper right portion of her face gives way to shadowy mist.

Eyes: Her left eye is a deep, blood moon red-orange. Her right eye is a bottomless black pit with a pinprick of angry red light inside.

Hair: Raven blue-black wavy locks that when unbraided falls to her knees.

Clothes: She dresses very much like a modern day cowgirl, wearing rugged but fashionable clothes.

Other: Any other characteristics not covered by the above? If your character has a particularly unusual appearance, how do they appear to unawakened characters?

SECTION THREE: Personality

Trait One: Shockingly for a vampire, Morrigan remains staunchly religious despite her inability to engage with her faith in traditional ways. Over the years she has fund workarounds that satisfy her spiritual needs. She sees her mission from her coven as a righteous one, ordained as much by the heavenly Father and the spirits of the earth as the vampires who sired her. Her faith bleeds into everything that she does, including her pact with the demon in her eye, justifying that she wasn't bound for heaven anyway and so keeping him from corrupting a soul with a chance at salvation is a mercy she can provide to the world. Part of her evolution as a woman of faith, Morrigan has adapted a lot of her mother's people's traditional beliefs and connection to the earth, which has led to her modern love for nature and her dedication to protecting the planet.

Trait Two: The devil in Morrigan's eye has had an influence on her over the decades that they've been together. He whispers to her, both ridiculing and goading her towards her worst instincts. She has largely learned to tune him out, but in moments of weakness or emotional distress the demon's influence becomes much more greatly felt. With him guiding her, Morrigan is sadistic and cruel in ways that revolt her. Her pact with the demon is a constant source of weariness for Morrigan, a cause for her to isolate herself from others and deny herself pleasure on the grounds of repenting for her connection to it.

Trait Three: Morrigan's morality is still skewed by the injustices that she suffered in her human lifetime, as well as the concessions that she's had to make in her time as a vampire. She views individual people as having moral worth, but simultaneously as expendable. Almost anyone can be sacrificed if the need is great enough and there aren't any good options to both save their life and achieve the outcome that needs to happen. But the most expendable person in the world, in Morrigan's eyes, is herself. She would gladly throw herself into a wood chipper if it meant someone else would be spared hardship, and it's only her connection to the lord of iron and smoke that prevents her from doing so time and time again.

SECTION FOUR: Abilities

Ability Format: Standard Traits

Advantages:
Apex Speed
Apex Strength
Apex Regeneration
Elemental Form (Smoke)
Enhanced Senses (Sight, Smell)
Enhanced Senses (Hearing, Taste)
Mesmer
Wall climbing
Silent Movement

Disadvantages:
Aversion(Consecrated Ground)
Aversion(Running Water)
Aversion (Religious Iconography)
Elemental Weakness(Fire)
Elemental weakness(Holy)
Invitation Required
Weakness(Silver)
Arithmomania
Sensitivity(Religious Iconography)

Core Advantage: Vogmollath, Lord of Iron and Smoke - A powerful demon from the depths of Hell, cut in half and sealed into a revolver and Morrigan's right eye. Bullets fired from the gun count as both holy and profane and if Morrigan removes her eyepatch she can track even the fastest of creatures to improve her chances of hitting them with a shot. Morrigan always knows where the gun is, so that if it is stolen she can go retrieve it.

Core Disadvantage: Morrigan must consume blood to sustain herself, and gains no nutritional value from normal food. If she go too long without feeding, she will grow weaker and weaker as well as more feral. Failing to feed past a certain point will cause Morrigan to fall comatose and enter a state of permanent hibernation which can only be roused by being fed blood. Will not die as a result of being starved.

Bonus:
Bonus: Animal Form (Raven)

Nerfs and Flavor: In direct sunlight, she is weakened to baseline human levels when it comes to senses, abilities, and attributes. She is also unable to change forms in direct sunlight. If she is in her animal form, she must stay that way until she is able to get out of direct sunlight.

SECTION FIVE: Current Situation

Occupation: On paper, and in her day to day life, Morrigan is an environmental conservation scientist. She moonlights as a bounty hunter, tracking down and dealing with rogue supernatural elements; particularly rogue members of the bloodline she's part of.

Housing: She's currently living out of a hotel on her coven's dime

Wealth: Not wealthy, but comfortable

SECTION SIX: History

Date of Birth: July 22, 1839

Place of Birth:

History:

  • The older of two daughters born to a pair of settlers seeking a better life in the American frontier.
  • Her father's death forced the girls' mother into sex work to continue taking care of them.
  • As soon as she was old enough to work, Morrigan took a job at a saloon.
  • A customer at the saloon assaulted Morrigan one evening, leading to her stabbing him to death in a panic.
  • Her mother took the blame for the death, urging her daughters to run as the townspeople took the excuse to try her as a murderer.
  • Morrigan found herself adept at using her youth and beauty to lull outlaws into a false sense of security, killing them for their bounties to keep her and her sister fed.
  • Over the years her sister developed a penchant for witchcraft, which Morrigan forced her to hide as they traveled further westward to try and find a place they could call home.
  • In her thirties, their luck ran out and Morrigan's sister was discovered and arrested as a witch. Forced to run as their home burned, Morrigan never learned her sister's fate.
  • She was met however, nearly dead by a man who seemed in the same boat as her. They struck up a deal: she would let him feed on her blood, and he would give her the power to avenge her family.
  • Morrigan's first act as a vampire was to wipe out the men who had taken her sister. Her savagery kept her from being able to demand answers as to what they had done to her.
  • Alone and bereft of joy, Morrigan spent the next thirty years of her now eternal life mindlessly serving her sire - content in essentially being a tool.
  • Eventually though, Morrigan began to heal. She found love and a new purpose in her life in the arms of a nun who had forsaken her oaths to better serve God.
  • Her sire's jealousy and fear pushed him to kill her new paramour, and Morrigan retaliated in kind by taking his life.
  • Her coven was not far behind, only taking a decade to track Morrigan down. She was tried and acquitted of her crime against her sire, and was embraced with open arms into the coven.
  • As time moved on and Morrigan started coming into her own, she turned back to the faith she'd long ago abandoned.
  • She studied to catch up to the scientific knowledge of the day and took an interest in wildlife conservation and ecology. This would form a basis for her passions throughout the ages.
  • An event that she and her coven refer to only as 'the Ravening' led to the loss of Morrigan's eye and her bondage to the demon Vogmollath.
  • She took the honored position of enforcing the secrecy and rules of her coven, using the cursed gun she now carried to facilitate this.
  • Most recently, word of a punished coven member's escape reached the leadership of the coven, and they have dispatched Morrigan to Polaris Pass to find and kill the traitor.
