What caused the loud howls that resonated throughout Polaris Pass? It's citizens may never know. Just another tale added to the many that draw crowds to the town.

National News: Actor Jessica Sartore In Critical Condition After Shooting Incident

January 1st, 2022

Jessica Sartore, 18, best known for her childhood film roles and more recent roles in the horror genre, was found shot in the home of her aunt, Lora Sartore, 38, on the morning of New Year Day. Sartore had been staying in a small town in Oregon while in a financial feud with her father, David Sartore, 42.

Police suspect David Sartore sought out his daughter to carry out a murder-suicide, though investigation remain in progress. It has been confirmed that David had shot himself, and it is believed he shot both Lora and Jessica as well. Shockingly, Jessica has narrowly avoided death despite being shot in the head.

Jessica currently remains in a coma at Legacy Park Hospital.

A few miles out from the town, there's a new clearing - easily twenty feet around, with signs that the trees have been pushed over. It's not on police radar (it's not near anything), but local kids might be hearing about it, and werewolves and the like might find it by accident.

A rental van was found overturned and severely destroyed on Rocky Hollow road near Polaris Pass. Police noted signs that a bomb or something similarly destructive had been used against it. In a related news article, it was noted that the rental was made under a false name.

In the town's supernatural community, word has been spreading about the real story. In short, a group of french-speaking dragons from the Incendo clan attempted to kidnap one of Hudson Rogers' foster kids. Apparently, this is part of some kind of draconic turf war initiated by bad actors. The foster kid Riley escaped, leaving that mess on the news behind. Some members of the Olcan pack have been advising members of the community to keep an eye out for any french-speaking dragons, and urging them to be careful about alerting sleeper authorities to any of this.

National News: Actor Jessica Sartore wakes from coma after attack by father
2/10/2021

Actor Jessica Sartore, known for her childhood film roles as well as her more recent horror film roles, has regained consciousness after a critical injury. Sartore was attacked by her father in an attempted murder-suicide on the first of January.


Sartore has released a statement:

“I have a long road of healing ahead of me, but I am confident that I am going to be okay. People have been saying my recovery is a ‘miracle,’ but I’d say everyone here at the hospital should get the credit.

I’m going to be here for a while longer, and man I am already antsy to get back to work. I’m just hoping to bounce back as soon as possible so I can continue to entertain and make people happy. Thank you to everyone who has kept me in their thoughts!”

It is believed that the attack may have been related to a financial conflict between the two. Sartore has made no comments in regard to the attack.

Monsters in the Forest
There have been reports of strange, twisted silhouettes being spotted in the forest at dark. While little have claimed to have first-hand experience of seeing these silhouettes, the rumors are getting around nevertheless, seemingly starting around the 11th of February.

The tales have been inconsistent, but the general consensus is that none of these shapes match any kind of known animal and all seemed to sparkle faintly. One such shape was described as being long, thin, and twisting with legs replaced by several arms similar to a centipede. Another looked to be a jagged body with a head at the end of an impossibly long neck and a long, feline tail coming out where another head might be.

Anyone who tried to get close to one found it to slink away into the shadows and disappear. There is no common place or time for these appearances, only that they're at night and somewhere around the wilderness.

Those aware of the supernatural have played off these rumors as pranks by stupid teenagers, similar to those walking around in a Bigfoot costume. Some younger Unawakened have made a game of tracking down these "creatures" and unveiling the mystery. Forest rangers have warned all to not go searching for the pranksters and to let them handle the problem.

Rumor

In recent weeks there seems to be an increase in what parents are calling nightmares among unawakened children. In most cases the parents shrug it off as normal childhood imaginations running wild, with many citing the cause being recent horror movies and or scary youtube videos as the source of these "Bad dreams". All the children describe a similar creature that looks akin to a stereotypical wendigo appearing in their bedroom at night. Those in the awakened community know that a wendigo is not the cause as no one has gone missing or been hurt.

It is strange though. All these children having the same nightmare...

A common Dinner in Polaris Pass, is a simple place on this colder day, the wind biting cheeks as people go about their day. Many find their solace in this little dinner for their warm drinks and nice sweet treats, the floor was of a checkered design and the walls were that of a light pink and decorated with frames and photos of regular customers. All topped off with a nice welcome matt in cursive and a bell that rings as the front door were opened, to show the customers that the staff cared. The whole place shone with warm light, it was a place of love... one thing stood out.

On the glass of the door, tapped from the inside, was a white piece of printed paper with an ad on it, "Private Investigator for Hire, call now at..." the paper went on to talk about help with missing cats or catching cheating spouses, "...Call Miss Porter today to get your Mysteries Solves," the paper reads.
