Dahlia Black

Born after Malara and Chloe Black decided to settle down in Polaris Pass, Dahlia was their first daughter - brought into the world in Malara's ancient traditions. Taking physically after her golden mother, Dahlia was raised with the assumption that she would end up much like Malara.

Her school life was rife with expectations that fed into behavior which fed further into those expectations. She tried at first to live up to the expectations she assumed had been placed upon her, but couldn't manage it. At the age of fourteen, she started an all girl rock band that did covers. They weren't very good, but Malara funded them so they still got shows regardless. Dahlia was also given fairly unrestricted access to Malara's wealth, until she paid off a relative stranger's home with her debit card. Malara rescinded Dahlia's access until she could 'resist the urge to piss away money on every sob story she was told.'

Over time, Dahlia got better at her music and her band started to branch out into their own original songs. She gathered a small collection of friends, both in her band and outside of it, and tried to find a balance that she could live with. After graduating, she started trying to promote her band more and more, but fears that growing too big could lose her the people she cares about.

Helping her friend Alex with some problematic dragons that were bothering him, Dahlia got a taste for the kind of fame and respect that she craved herself. She took the opportunity to join Sazz Deceleus in Hell to take back his home from the despot who ruled it, further stoking that fire inside herself. A trip to France however severed ties between her and her girlfriend Threnody, and in the aftermath of their breakup she met a werewolf named Nik. Their whirlwind romance brought many things to light for Dahlia, such as her mother's constant spying and her 'best friend' Morgan's identity as the spy Sareth.

In a bid to try and make something of herself, Dahlia set her sights on taking a petty kingdom in Hell for herself. She hid away her unborn daughter in a demon's womb and gathered followers to take over the territory that her bodyguard Bas had picked for her. This was all a ruse by Bas however, because he knew that this would not make Dahlia happy and would only lead to her being more miserable and alone. Broken by this newest betrayal, Dahlia fell into a deep depression until the birth of her daughter gave her a new perspective on life. She started producing music by herself again, and took up a job as a personal trainer to coach others in how to fight. Needing more money to really establish herself though, she's taken to doing dangerous fights in the Pit and elsewhere to earn money.
