Body: Androgynous. Barely defined body features. Two pairs of arms. Legs transition into clouds. Extremely light. The stars on their body sparkle and glow in proportion to their mood. Positivity makes them shine, negativity makes them dim.
Face: Rounded square head. Bat-like ears with rainbow interiors. Rainbow horns. Right horn is longer than the left.
Eyes: Rainbow. Always crying rainbows. Their tears are rainbow and will dissipate when they drop from their face.
Hair: Cloud-like. Same color as their body. The interior is rainbow.
Clothes: Usually nothing
Other: Celeste appears to be a young, androgynous black person standing at 6'3". They have long black hair, grey eyes, and blue-black skin. While not being muscular, they have a fit and curvy body.

SECTION THREE: Personality
Emotional: Sela is animal playing human. Their connection to humanity is linked to the people and human information they've absorbed over the years. They're able to do basic interactions in short bursts before their natural states start showing through. Their instincts typically show in sudden bursts of emotions not appropriate for the situation. They may burst into tears or growl in anger. If under-stimulated, they might intentionally cause trouble just to do something.

Poor Conversationalist: Sela has never been a master of words... when it comes to direct interactions with people. They can write a story with realistic people by drawing inspiration from the real people they've absorbed. When suddenly faced with conversation, they either go with the first thing on their mind or take too long to formulate an answer. Either way, talking to them has a good chance of leading to awkwardness.

Sela and the Selas: Sela is literally imagination and built up of dozens of people, animals, and objects they've consumed over the years. But before all of that, they were alone in a strange and frightening place. This culminated into them creating "people" to talk to. First it started off friends to chat with, then friends to take their place when talking to facility workers, then people with their own unique personalities. For the most part. There's always been some issues of blending. The point is, sometimes it's hard to tell if who you're talking to is actually Sela.

Quirk:
  • Swings between being an unresponsive daydreamer or showing inappropriately extreme emotions to a situation
  • Frequent hummer, tapper, and when given a pen and pencil, doodler
  • Enjoys wandering through forests and abandoned areas
  • Gets tense around loud, sudden noise
  • When feeling childish or panicked, they sometimes revert to a smaller, child form. When aggressive, an animal form. Unawakened humans will perceive them as a child or the closest animal they resemble in those instances

Core Advantage: By turning a significant portion of their body into a mouth, Sela can envelop a living creature or in their body to slowly drain them of their emotions, memories, and dreams, dissolving them/it in the process. From most to least nutritious would be sapient creatures, animals, then objects. Sapience has the most vivid memories and emotions, constituting a whole meal. Objects gather information from their creation and surroundings, so they constitute as snacks. Not eating results in a deep sleep as an alternative to regaining energy.

Absorbing creatures and objects as makes them permanent residents of Sela's dimension, which is inside of their body. All information is stored in their library.

Core Disadvantage: Sela is trapped between reality and imagination, always drifting between one and the other. Extremes of either side can force them into a long state of daydreaming where nothing catches their attention, or being highly lucid where the reality's intense information causes them to freeze or express intense emotions.

History:
There was never an exact time where Sela came into being. They transitioned from being little more than an idea to having as much sentience as an animal. A final push was needed for them to become sapient. To become real.

That push came from a group of awakened scientists working for a small agency "securing" and studying supernatural phenomena. Their attempts at channeling cosmic energies for weaponry didn't exactly go as planned. They instead caught the attention of Sela, pulling them out of the in between of unreal and real and fully into real. For the most part. Their mind still wasn't all there.

The result was gruesome. Stuck in a panicked, feral state, they attacked any that came at them, absorbing them for information. A little more damage was done than necessary, but their end goal was to escape. It almost worked, but the shock of being real and full of food left them exhausted. Right at the exit, they fell asleep. Their sleep lasted almost a month, in which they were trapped in a box and monitored.

When they awoke, there was a lot of struggling, growling, and tears. It took a while for reason to make them accept the part of an obedient test subject. An aggravating task that required them to switch up their personality regular. The only upside was figuring out the information they received about the facility in their downtime. When let out, they practiced their abilities.

All of this culminated into the last time they were let out of their room. From there, it was easy to squish their body down and leave through the ventilation system and any other places hard to shove a human in.

This was possibly the best case scenario for Sela. A secret place where they were allowed to eat and train their abilities, then leave. And the loneliness? That was only a problem for a short time. It was easier to dream about completely separate people instead of a persona they were acting the part of.

The rest of their life wasn't as exciting. They kept to empty areas for sleep, then went out hunting for people, animals, and objects to eat. One animal in particular was interesting. It was a deer with wings, and within that deer was the knowledge of Polaris Pass. Intrigued, Sela set their sights on the town. Amazed by what they've found, they hid in the woods. Sometimes in houses if they wanted to grab a quick snack. Enough exploration brought them to a dilapidated cottage with nothing inside. From there on out, that was their home.

Their money came from them planning stories in their head, writing them at public libraries, and publishing them. Donations from fans allowed them to slowly furnish their home and publish digital books. They're well-known in book spaces for their surrealism fiction and how they employ unconventional writing formats to better express their stories and poetry.

SECTION THREE: Personality
Authoritarian: Jao wishes for a peaceful life where the world can be neatly categorized and all activity is tracked. Unfortunately, to work towards that, she needs chaos. Fulfilling her goal means not having anything to work on.

Planner: Seeing the weak-points and cracks in the universe is rather useful for planning. Jao knows when something is unstable, the steps needed to fix it, and how long she has to complete the task. This does not make her perfect. She works best with Myst because he can see the order in the universe and express their ideas better, yet because of how she presents herself, people tend to go to her for leadership.

Unsociable: People aren't simple equations. They are chaotic creatures. Each one has its own thoughts, wants, fears, and many other aspects she has trouble decoding. Like Sela, she does not consider herself a person. Because of that, she finds these flaws she sees in both herself and people unnerving. These issues make Jao avoid people. She'll interact when she needs to, but she doesn't go out of her way to form relationships. Relationships she has tend to be through Sela or Myst. The only relationships she has are the ones Sela and Myst have given her. Regardless, she considers herself more of a guardian to those Sela cares for than a friend, giving advice and warnings when they face a problem.

Core Advantage: Jao can see the inherent patterns and symmetry even in the most chaotic and random things. This allows Jao to be able to predict the outcome of random events as they are occurring, such as which face a thrown die will land on.

Core Disadvantage: Logically impossible statements can cause Jao to freeze as her mind attempts to codify and solve the equation of the statement in a satisfactory way. Such statements can leave her entirely immobile and unresponsive until she is called back into Sela's world or Myst initiates physical contact with her to break the loop. This can also lead Jao to become stuck in her loop if she does not have the logical frame of reference to understand a concept (such as the rules, however alien, that dictate behavior and physiology of Eldritch creatures).

Personality: Likes to cause problems on purpose.
Abilities: Creepy, shape-shifting humanoid that learns fast and can fly.

SECTION THREE: Personality
Free-Spirited: Myst is practically an embodiment of chaos. Sure, he'll follow the rules, but only because it benefits himself, and most importantly, Sela. Otherwise, fuck it. He'll shove himself into any situation for the fun of it, strain tensions, then see how far he can push it towards its breaking point before backing off. His perfect world is one where anyone can do whatever they want. People should live the best version of their lives. If they have an issue with someone else's way of living? Then that will be a fun show for Myst to eat popcorn to.

Rigid: Thoughts that Myst hasn't come to himself practically don't exist at all. When told to change his mind about anything, he loses his cool and becomes irritable. Sometimes the result is him being loud and confrontational, sometimes it's him being quiet and withdrawn. In the end, he always sticks with what he has chosen. Only a long argument, authority, or one of the Constellations (mainly Sela or Jao) can make him change his mind or begrudgingly go against his decision.

Sociable: Between him and Jao, Myst is the "fun one." Seeing order everywhere pushes him to go where there's the least amount. People fit both of Myst's needs to communicate and bring about chaos. The dynamic human species is his favorite. One second they travel by sapient four-legged powerhouses of death, next they travel within inorganic four-wheeled powerhouses of death. On an individual scale, they're all over the place. There are infinite layers to a person that he loves peeling back. Humans are as far from orderly as a creature can get, and Myst revels in it.

Core Advantage: Myst can see the inherent chaos in even the most orderly and procedural of occurrences. This allows Myst to see in real-time as chaotic events build upon an orderly set of actions and see the chain of failure that will result, such as an individual misfiring in a computer causing it to crash.

Bonus: This is a power that can only be done when Jao and Myst are within 10 feet of one another.
By focusing on a specific point in space-time that they are observing, JaoMyst can see all of the potential points of interference that cause disorderly events. This allows JaoMyst to determine which events need to occur in order to reach what they would consider an optimal outcome. Whether or not they can achieve this outcome is another matter entirely.

History:
Jao, Myst, Rei, and Neeri all share the same origin story: They were created during the early period of Sela's life, when they were most lonely. Each one took up a different role to Sela while always reflecting a different part of them. As each creation developed, they began to have their own wants and needs. Sela allowed them access to their body to better express themself, but this wasn't enough. There was only so much they could do through Sela's body without changing Sela's reputation or making them uncomfortable.

This led to them deciding to have bodies separate to Sela. With directions from Adranus Narreos, Sela was pointed to the direction of Chloe Black. The two made a deal: Chloe would give the Constellations bodies customized to their likings, Sela would give away several willing souls of humans they've eaten along their lifetime.

And then the rest was history.

Body: Androgynous. Lithe. Subtle hourglass shape from their shoulders and hips. Has wavy and star-shaped "tattoos" from their cheeks down. Their "skin" feels overly soft and smooth to be human, giving an artificial quality to it.
Face: Heart-shaped.
Eyes: Pink, glowing heart-shaped irises.
Hair: Long. Flowing. Semi-intangible.

Clothes: Is part of their body. Tries to keep it simple and avoids the maid outfit like the plague. Sometimes their outfit will change to match whatever is appropriate for a given situation.

SECTION THREE: Personality
Adaptable: Besom has spent many years tailoring themself to different masters and societies. They can barely describe their own personality, feeling like they change to fit whatever is best for the crowd. Overall, they try to present themself as friendly and approachable. Since coming to the island, they've been a little depressed to find that they relied so heavily on their master for an identity.

Free: No longer being bound to a master has made Besom excited to be free to do as they please. They're a little reckless, not too concerned about harm that may come to their immortal soul. As long as their broom can stay protected, they'll do just about anything for fun. Morals aren't something they're too concerned about after serving so many people of varying moral codes. The only thing Besom won't stand for is the harm of servants.

Paranoid: Besom is wary of authority and those who desire power. They avoid those kinds of people, believing them to be the kind of masters that treat their servants poorly. It's hard for Besom to ignore intrusive thoughts telling them those people would enslave them. Because of this fear, Besom keeps quiet about what they are and what they're capable of. If anyone asks, they're just a spirit with a thing for cleaning.

Core Advantage: Besom's broom is capable of cleaning any surface almost immediately. Dust, dirt, and other small messes get caught on their brush, then can be vacuumed up into them and erased out of existence. They can also sweep out malicious spirits and negative energies to keep an area spiritually clean. Besom can hold their broom while sweeping or become that broom.

Core Disadvantage: List your core advantage here. Having a core advantage is optional.

Bonus:
Besom has minor shape-shifting abilities that allow them to change minor features of their body, such as their "hair"style, face, and sex.

Additionally, their clothes are part of their body, sharing their durability and weight (or lack thereof). Besom can alter their clothing to be anything they want, or allow it to alter itself to fit their current environment. No matter what they wear, there will be a pink glowing heart located somewhere on them.

Besom was an enchanted broom created by Mayzen, a domestic god. Their purpose was to clean up any mess that came about. As Mayzen grew in power, so too did Besom. They developed sentience, then sapience, then a humanoid body. From there, they continued serving their creator, growing in power alongside him.

It took a long time for word to spread of what Besom could do. The items created for their master weren't used for violence or anything extraordinary. Mayzen's power, wealth, and ability to satisfy their worshipers increased slowly over time. Word only spread when servants, guards, and defeated foes of Mayzen spoke of an enchanted broom with amazing power.

These rumors attracted the attention of other gods, which Mayzen took as newfound respect. No one believed the small and lithe Besom was the one giving the domestic god all that power. That is until they saw Besom summon objects from nowhere. All the gods had their eyes on acquiring Besom for themself now, believing they were essential in gaining more power.

Wars were started over this, the first one beginning with Mayzen's death and Besom's new master. Thousands of years went by as Besom repeatedly changed masters. Each master fanned the flames of the war. Then one god decided enough was enough. There was a clear source of the problem that needed to be cut out.

Besom was caught unaware by the god. Restrained, they were told of their "sins" for existing and being forced to follow orders. At the end of this, they were sent to another world.

Following the magic leyline to Polaris Pass, Besom showed up near the lake.

Spacey: Xiraev has lived far longer than most people should. Immortal and secure in his survival, Xiraev views everything differently from mortals. Instead of viewing time in days, weeks, or months, he views them in decades, centuries, or millennia. He learned long ago how to fake empathy with other short-lived creatures. It's necessary when he regularly does business with them. Oftentimes he struggles with how quickly people age and times change, so he can't put off his plans too far in the future.

The biggest problem he has is his spaciness. If something doesn't grab his attention at the moment, he'll freeze like a statue (or dead body) until his attention is called back. Half the time he doesn't remember what he was thinking about while spaced out. There have been times where he has "left reality" for days, months, and years, while his children and friends helped out with his work. On Manta Carlos, he's been trying to stay more aware, but he still slips into "naps."

Authoritative: Xiraev gives off the impression of a trustworthy father figure you wouldn't want to talk back to. He exudes confidence while speaking with relaxed shoulders and his head held up high. When he speaks, he does not allow room for argument but makes sure to use a gentle tone. He is authoritative, not authoritarian. That difference, paired with his affinity for conversation and social outings, has made him a well-known figure in both high-class Narrow Reality and supernatural spaces.

Ever since arriving on Manta Carlos, he has had to relearn some of his skills. His aura helped immensely with persuasion. It's not as easy to get away with using that on the island, so he has to be more aware of how he presents himself without the use of magic.

Xiraev’s memory of his life is a bit of a blur, and much of it blends together so seamlessly that he has difficulty pinning down an exact timeline for himself beyond the past few decades. He remembers events and can generally put them in a location and era, but could not, for example, tell you which Roman emperor was in power when he did a particular thing.

His earliest memories, however, are of learning Cuneiform from his parents so that he could understand the writings of the ancient Akkadian people who worshipped them. He assumes they thought that the demons were some aspects or servants or a god like Ishtar. He does not remember much else about his parents, even their faces.

He recalls that piracy was a big concern and the American colonies rebelling were all the talk when he met his sire. The details are fuzzy, but he remembers the lessons. Learning to hide in plain sight, to only feed as much as he needed to, and ingraining himself in his community so that even if someone suspected him, it was their word against the word of a pillar in the community. Shipping companies were good, steady businesses that let him move himself and his slowly accumulating wealth wherever he needed to keep suspicion low.

He remembers all the talk of expanding westward and the looming American Civil War when he moved to America. All the people displaced by war were good stock to feed on and get that precious social clout for helping the less fortunate. Someone would eventually nark on him. That was until he took in his first supernatural tenant and realized that there was a niche population that he could help immensely while also saving himself the trouble of keeping occupants quiet about his inhuman tendencies.

Jazz was big when Xiraev realized he’d fallen full swing into his new life of being a beacon and shelter for the supernatural. But being forward-thinking, he also realized that he couldn’t maintain his lifestyle away from the city and the people. He started setting aside resources and contacts to move his countryside manor into New York City, and by the time that the first World War was kicking off, he moved the house and set up shop near the heart of civilization.

Meek: Virtually, Cameron is cutesy, flirty, and adventurous. In reality, while all of those are true, what's most prominent is his meekness. He's not exactly shy, since he enjoys being around people, but he tends to be a follower than a leader. His entire life was dictated by what social media thought of him. Every compliment, criticism, and outright insult resulted in him cultivating a shell to hide away who he truly is. When in face-to-face situations without a script, he's prone to either flustering through conversation (which, when caught on camera, people interpreted as him being purposely cutesy or trying to rake in sympathy points), or he reverts to bad habits of being overtly sexual.

Self-Conscious: Cameron is always critiquing himself, always trying to figure out how to become better than he already is. Everything must be perfect. He believes himself to be talented and beautiful, but to some extent, he hates it. Most of all, he hates his eyes after being told how beautiful they are. His solution to them is by covering them with bangs or glasses.

Inappropriate: Cameron's default mode is to play perverted. It's the easiest way for him to connect to others while keeping a safe emotional distance. Nervous? Make a sex joke. Uncomfortable? Make a sex joke. Sometimes he plays it up to make others uncomfortable so they'll avoid him, but that's only if he's willing to risk his image... unless controversy will help it in the instance.

Core Advantage: Cameron can create a séance by holding dirt or plant life with lingering traces of the deceased. "Lingering traces" including the deceased interacting with the matter in any way. More dirt/plant life allows him to get a better connection with the spirit, but it increases the chance that other spirits lingering inside will be called to him instead.

Bonus: Cameron is naturally desirable to those within 5 feet. His fur is soft and never tangles. His scent is always pleasant and will have a hint of the smeller's favorite scent. The same goes for how he tastes, with there always being something satisfying to it. Even his voice is nice to listen to. Those who feed on him will feel satisfyingly full quicker, longer, and gain all the nutrition they need. Interaction with Cameron through the senses will have some quality that can be appreciated by anyone.

Cameron, originally Darling, was born and raised in Polaris Pass. Darling's parents weren't particularly well off, prone to getting into credit card debt to flaunt their "wealth" to their neighbors. In a place where so many people had amazing, unique powers or skills, they tried hard to prove themselves.

Their big break came when Cameron was born. With the growing popularity of the internet, they used whatever methods given to them to cultivate fame through their child. Pictures of their cute baby, blogs about their child's development, videos of their child being cute. At six years old, his parents bought him a human shape charm as a birthday gift. They were going to bring him to the Narrow Reality. Not physically, but virtually. Since he was born, Cameron was being displayed in some way.

If not for school, this could have been considered a career. So when he hit eighteen, he already knew what the rest of his life had in store for him. What need was there for higher academics when he has pushed his family into riches, all by looking pretty?

But the freedom of adulthood he felt owed to pushed him to his breaking point. For eighteen years, he had been advertised as a lie. His genderfluidity was watered down so he could be a genderfluid, feminine-leaning girl, which was more marketable from a physical standpoint while pushing themselves into the growing LGBT+ sphere. Exhausted, he left home, changed his legal name to Cameron Shine, and changed his legal gender. He only narrowly avoided a fallout with his parents by keeping to his work, regularly sending them money, and not disparaging their public image on his platforms. Platforms that they have all the passwords to.

On social media, Cameron is known as Darling, part of the influencer group Shine Fam, made up of his mother (Trinity Shine) and his father (Max Shine). Most of their videos and blogposts revolve around showing the development of their genderfluid "daughter," Darling, whose interests lies in gaming, art, makeup, and fashion. Recently, they've been making a move towards the virtual YouTuber genre whenever they stream.

Gender: Cameron primarily refers to himself as they/he in real life, and she/her when using the Darling persona online. He's still figuring out how comfortable he is with she/her pronouns.

Simplistic: Oscar doesn't have much going on in its head. It's a simple entity made from simple origins. It's not exactly dumb, per say. It knows what it needs to survive (avoid light, don't show itself to humans), but that's really it. Since coming to Polaris Pass, it's been more willing to come out and meet people, but still instinctively avoids crowds.

Friendly?: Oscar isn't malicious, that's for sure. Most of the time it thinks it's helping people. Why throw plastic in the ocean when it can eat that plastic for you? When threatened, its more likely to run away than snap back.

Shy: What else could a being made from the idea of staying hidden and quiet be? Oscar has trouble directly confronting people and would rather not be seen when talking. Their first few attempts at talking to people scared kids from under their beds and lonely adults out of their apartments. Now, they're only willing to talk from the shadows.

Quirk:
  • Gets weirded out when referred by any pronouns than "It." It isn't female or male, and "they" feels inaccurate from multiple perspectives. It very much sees itself as not human in any sense of the word.

History:
Oscar is the culmination of the shadows in dumpsters and trash cans. The culmination of trash left under your bed or objects disappearing behind your desk. And that's really all there is to it. Oscar is a cryptid, built off the ideas of where your socks disappear to and all those other little stories. From there, it became semi-sapient, hiding in houses, cleaning up whatever it could find, then disappearing. Travelling from place to place, it eventually found itself at Polaris Pass after filling itself up on Portland, Oregon.

While all of the above is true, Oscar doesn't remember its previous life: A poor, homeless teenager named Spike. He mostly lived in rundown places, scrounging up food where he could. Once in a while he joined punk-anarchist groups who helped each other survive. He could never stick with them, always feeling the need to wander and explore the world. Yet that kind of wandering was his downfall. When he had no one else to support him, he died from hunger, alone and near a dumpster.

Awkward: While great at his work, outside of it, Roland puts minimal effort socializing. He prefers keeping to himself. When spoken to, some get the sense that he's distracted or uninterested. The plain way he speaks and his dull expressions are the main reasons. When touching upon a subject he's particularly interested in, his eyes brighten and he speaks with a lively tone.

Gentle: Roland has a strong sense of empathy that is often overlooked. He considers it a blessing and a curse. It's easy for him to notice the feelings of others, but he struggles to not involve himself too much in their plights. His line of work has not helped numb this trait of his. When faced with high-stress situations and is surrounded by people, he elects to fade into the background instead of letting others' emotions overwhelm him. It's better for everyone that way.

Stoic: Roland's greatest flaw is his difficulty with expressing himself. When he thinks he's speaking energetically or showing a wide range of emotions, most others perceive him as bored. Co-workers have described him as care-free and difficult to talk to. Apparently nothing riles him up. Those closest to him or have worked with him for a while will notice the many nuances in his body language and speech that reflect how he really feels

Core Advantage: Magical Tattoos: Roland has a plethora of tattoos that allow him to perform various magical feats by physically pulling ink out of the tattoo with his fingers. He can make himself stronger, more durable, or give himself the ability to see all around himself. He can also detach the tattoos to summon an inky version of the creature they represent. These summoned creatures perform whatever task that Roland assigns them, swimming through the air to do so. They cannot perform actions that Roland himself does not know how to do, such as tracking down a person he has never met or hacking a computer system. The summoned creatures are about as strong and durable as their real life counterparts, except for the serpents on his back which are about as strong as he is.

Each tattoo can only be used a handful of times before the ink has faded so much that they become unusable. When this happens, they need to be re-inked. Likewise, getting part of the tattoo cut will render it unusable until it can be restored.
  • The Mind's Eyes: By placing both hands on a creature that can think, Roland can sift through their memories to isolate for manipulation. This takes time as if he were manually searching through microfilm, but the amount of time it takes significantly reduced by how specific of a search he is doing. Knowing what the exact memory is means he can find it almost instantly.

    From here, every second of maintained contact allows him to manipulate 2 seconds of the memory. He can make a memory fade, strengthen a memory, or copy a memory into his own mind. When he copies the memory it is as if he experienced the incident that caused it, with all the implications that brings.

  • The Stars Align: By placing a hand on his right arm's tattoos, Roland can gain information of the near future. The clarity of the information ranges, but it can give him preparation to have an item or 2 that will be important.
