- Human - Ava is pale and she has freckles all over her face and body. Her body is muscular and stocky, and she has all kinds of scars here and there. Ava's biggest scar is one on her right side, which she got in a bear attack.
Dragon - Ava is about the size and weight of a school bus in her dragon form. Her skin is covered in a lava layer, which in turn is covered in a thin black crust of hardened volcanic rock. She has wings whose membrane is also made of lava.
- Face
- Ava's face is a bit boxy and she has a strong jawline. Her cheeks are always a bit rosy under the freckles. She has a slightly upturned button nose. Ava has a nose piercing, a tongue piercing, a brow piercing, and three piercings in both ears.
- Eyes
- Ava has big sky blue eyes. When in dragon form or partially shifted they turn gold.
- Hair
- Ava's hair is orange and naturally curly, her sides are shaved with the hair being bit longer on the top of her head. Ava's hair starts to glow like an ember when she heats her body up.
- Clothes
- Ava's style is very chaotic, and she's always wearing different coloured clothes. But she's always wearing her mother's old combat boots. Ava is often covered in all kinds of patches and pins, they usually revolve around the environment, animals or Ava's favourite movies and series. She also always has at least one scrunchie around her wrist, despite having short hair.

- Ava has a tattoo of a dragon made of flames on her upper back. She took it in her mother's memory.
Personality
Passionate - Ava is a girl filled with vigour, passion and spirit. She is adventurous, curious and has a warrior's heart. Ava has many things she cares about, and she cares about them with the power of a thousand suns. Ava is quick to stand up for herself and the things she believes in, and she will fight for them until the very end.
Temperamental - Even though Ava smiles and laughs easily, she angers just as easily. It's not hard to press Ava's buttons, and her rage is slow to cool. She has spent many years of her life working on this part of herself, but even after all this time Ava's temper runs hot and she carries grudges to the grave.
Clueless - Ava is emotional and cares deeply, but she is not the best at reading the room. She herself is aware of this, and so Ava practices precaution with new people and can act overly careful. But in order for her to understand something it often needs to be told to her straight. It's sometimes a problem with Ava, that she will hurt someone's feelings and won't realize until it's too late. But Ava is always eager to make things right and once she knows she's been wrong she will do everything in her power to make it right.

- Lava Touch - Ava is able to heat her body up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. When her temperature reaches 200 degrees Fahrenheit her touch can turn earth and minerals into lava at will. The moment Ava's body temperature drops below 200 Fahrenheit the lava she created will turn into volcanic rock.
When in dragon form Ava's base body temperature is 200 degrees Fahrenheit and she can use this ability automatically. If her body temperature drops below 200 Fahrenheit in her dragon form for any reason (for example, being submerged or in a very low temperature) she is forced back into her human form.
If the minerals are submerged in water, their temperature is below freezing or they're otherwise affected by water or ice elemental magic Ava can't turn them into lava.

- Through practice Ava has been able to attain very good control over her partial shifting. She can, for example, only shift her teeth or eyes or other smaller parts of her body.

- Ava was born to a single mother, Cerise Incendio, who was a fire dragon. Ava's father was an earth dragon, but he'd left Ava's mother when he'd learned she was pregnant.
- Ava was very weak when she was born, and would not have survived for long. So, Cerise went to a witch she knew, and they were able to make Ava a magic locket, that linked Cerise's life force to Ava's, thus helping her stay alive.
- Ava and her mother lived in a log cabin Cerise had inherited from her family. Cerise also owned several acres of land around the cabin, so the two of them could transform without fear of being seen.
- Cerise raised Ava for the first 10 or so years with the support of the inheritance money her family left her, and her savings. But when the money started to run out Cerise had to start working as a truck driver. Ava was often watched by a nearby neighbour and family friend, the very same witch who'd saved her life, but she still had to spend a lot of time alone.
- When Ava was 13 Cerise had a fatal accident. The truck she was driving fell into ice when she was traversing an ice road in Alaska, and she drowned. Her body was never recovered.
- The cabin and land was given to the witch family friend to manage until Ava turned 21. Ava was put into the system, and she stayed there until she aged out of it.

- - Ava has been doing kickboxing since she was a child and is very good at it.
- Has ADHD and has medication for it, that she takes when needed.
- During her years in foster care Ava rebelled and got into a lot of trouble, and even spent little over a year in juvie for assault. During and after that Ava started receiving therapy and got her ADHD diagnosis.
- Ava is demiromantic (and battlesexual).
