  • El'anai Steel Sisterhood

Description: El'anai is an all female race with light to dark brown skin, long downturned ears, and a tail. Their tail is thick around the base and tapers down to a point with the last bit of their tail covered in longer hair that matches their head hair color(Lion tails are the closest approximation). The known hair colors are black, brown, and white, and there is no cultural focus on any specific hair color. El'anai eyes are vibrantly colored, with the known colors being blue, yellow, green, and steel gray. El'anai are typically no shorter or taller than the average human, with similar weight ranges, though El'anai who are active members of the sisterhood are typically lean and muscular due to regular training and consistent diets. On average, El'anai live for around 80 years unless bonded to the mother metal, which increases their lifespan to double the average.

The El'anai were once a large species at the galactic table, but in a brutal war most of the population was eradicated. Now these space faring elves only occupy a single gargantuan ship helmed by the Steel Sisterhood, El'anai who have bonded with their cultural artifact, The Mother Metal. A type of organic metal that changes the El'anai constitution to be closer to a machine's, something neither fully organic nor robotic. Many of their youth choose bonding at the behest of their parents, and it is heavily encouraged by their society. Those who wish to explore the stars, serve what remains of their people, or simply leave the mothership either take on mercantile jobs or join the steel sisterhood. After a brief enlistment period, Steel Sisters are given much more options for striking out on their own compared to members who do not 'pull their weight' outside of the ship. Many choose to stay with the ship and the sisterhood because it brings them great status amongst their people who carry a strong reverence for the protectors who are out trying to find their people a new place to live.

After bonding to the Mother Metal, many if not almost all members of the El'anai pursue cybernetic enhancement. Whether its to do their jobs more efficiently, or to replace damaged limbs and organs, you'd be hard pressed to find an El'anai who is neither bonded nor cybernetically augmented. There is a small movement of El'anai who reject bonding, as well as the practice of cybernetic augmentation, called purists. They work in the shadows of the ship, trying to undermine and convince members of their society away from integrating so fully with tech.

This is a custom species. Rules for usage are mentioned above; however, custom species are intended to depict a specific species (or otherwise) and their lore must be complied with.

+ Unique Sense(Metal)- Being integrated with the sisterhood's mother metal opens a person's senses to other metals both mundane and magical within similar ranges to other human senses.
+ Cybernetic Constitution- Once Augmented with their mother metal, a person's body becomes much more stable with other technology being introduced. Facing no complications or rejections of artificial organs or limbs. Their body becomes perfectly able integrate with technology as long as the procedure would not kill them outright.

    + Walking Smartphone
    + Healthy body
+ Enhanced Attributes(Strength, Durability, Reflexes, Speed)(pick two of these if you take this advantage)

    - Metallurgic diet- The bio-organic metal that has been integrated within their body requires regular absorption of mundane metals. This can usually be done by either eating or making prolonged contact with a source of metal.

    - Magical Vulnerability
    - Malware Weakness
    - Sensitivity(Stronger Electromagnetic fields, typically more severe for more heavily augmented members)
    -

Bold Advantages and disadvantages are required for each and every member at the start unless they get a special exception from me the owner. These are the signature traits of the species, and really help define them separate to other species. Past that, feel free to pick from the list. Bold traits are present amongst all members of the species, while non-bold traits can be picked as you please.
